Welcome

This wiki is dedicated to everything that is 100% free. You can find free games, applications, movies etc. What you won't find is shareware, trials or demos.

We really hope you enjoy our wiki and that you find what you need. So far there are 440+ entries in our database, and we are constantly working to expand it. You are very welcome to edit the existing articles, add information or start new pages. Developers are welcome to ad their own software, as long as it is free to use (please no "free" demos or trials, though). YOUR help is needed to make this a comprehensive database that can help anyone to find a free alternative for commercial products. Unfortunately I had to disable anonymous editing because of spam. I hope you don't mind to register. Just put in your name and choose a password. I am not collecting any information and you won't get any newsletters. Promise!

Just another freeware site?

Freebiewiki is a try to establish a comprehensive database for everything that is free, but mainly software and websites. The reason to choose a wiki as platform was, that this way anyone can ad or edit articles and keep the database up to date. There are many excellent freeware and open source sites out there, but many are not up to date, point to dead links, are abandoned etc. I kind of hope that this wiki will develop it's own life and evolves and grows, even if the administrators aren't around for regular updates.

Developers of free software for example, can take the wiki as a platform to inform people about their software, upload latest screenshots and update download links, basically design a website for their product. End users will be able to search the database for what they want and are guaranteed to find a free product, not just a link to some spam or "free demos" or "free trials".

The project is still in early stages but will hopefully grow when more people discover the site.
